If not already contained in their required rider waiver/release form, Build Your Tour recommends and requests all tours using our photo book design service insert the following paragraph to their standard waiver as soon as practicable.  We also recommend all tour staff, volunteers and others attending the tour be asked to sign a similar model release form or the rider waiver/release.

I understand that at this event or related activities, I may be photographed. In addition, I hereby give permission to [____Tour Name____], Build Your Tour and assignees to use my name and photographic likeness in all forms and media for advertising, trade, and any other lawful purposes.

Acceptable language from tours using this best practice include:
Ride the Rockies uses….
“I understand that at this event or related activities, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video or film, likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers and assigns. I understand that as a participant at this event my email address will be shared with select sponsors.”

Bike MS language….
“I hereby grant full permission to NMSS to use, reuse, reproduce, publish, or republish any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of my participation in this event, in any medium now known or hereafter developed, alone or in conjunction with
other material, without restriction as to changes or alterations, as well as to use my name, voice, likeness, and/or other indicia of
identity, for editorial, educational, promotional, advertising, and commercial purposes, including without limitation in connection with
the solicitation of contributions and the furtherance of the corporate objectives of NMSS. Further, I relinquish all rights, title, and
interest in any and all photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or other records of Bike MS I may take or capture to NMSS.”

Elephant Rock waiver includes….
“I authorize and consent to persons employed or contracted or Rocky Mountain Events Inc., whether by videotape, film, newsprint, written advertisement, or otherwise, of any materials containing my name or picture and I release any sponsors and all persons acting under authority from any claims I might have due to initial or subsequent publication of any such materials or photographs.”

Bicycle Tour Colorado language….
“I authorize and consent to persons employed or contracted by the BTC, whether by videotape, film, newsprint, written advertisement or otherwise, of any materials containing my name or picture and I release any sponsors and persons acting under authority from any claims I might have due to initial or subsequent publication of any such materials or photographs. I acknowledge that if my photo or name is used in such materials I will not be receiving any compensation whatsoever.”

RAGBRAI (a best practices ride has a huge waiver form &) includes…
“I understand that my name, address, photograph, voice and/or likeness may be used in news, promotional or advertising content in all media forms created or distributed by The Des Moines Register and Tribune Company, and its licensees. I consent to such uses and waive any rights of privacy or publicity I may have in connection with those uses.”

Team Evergreen uses…
“I understand that at this event or related activities, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video, film likeness and email address to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders, producers, sponsors, organizers and or assigns.”

Cycle Oregon has the following in their waiver…
“I give permission to Cycle Oregon, Inc., and its assigns and licensees, to use my name and any photographs taken of me during the Event in any promotional materials, events, or publications.”

Skinny Tire Events has …
“I hereby grant permission to Moab Skinny Tire Events (MSTE) to use my photograph on its World Wide Web site or in other event printed publication without further consideration, and I acknowledge MSTE’s right to crop or treat the photo at their discretion, I also acknowledge that MSTE may choose not use my photo at this time, but may do so at their own discretion at a later date. I also understand that once my image is posted on MSTE website, the image can be downloaded by any computer user. Therefore, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless from any claims MSTE and any or all of those associated with MSTE. MSTE reserves the right to discontinue use of photos without notice.”
