By now you know Build Your Tour loves to travel – especially with or by bicycle. We are never short of ideas about where to go next. One “go to” source to inspiration is National Geographic Traveler

Just this month, November 2013 National Geographic Traveler included articles and features about cycling

  • In Copenhagen, Denmark: We like the “Karma Spotters” on bicycle paths rewarding considerate behavior with stickers and CHOCOLATE !
  • During a layover at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport: We chuckle at the name of the bike rental station available at Amsterdam Centraal. Its’ MacBike
  • Through North, Central and South America: We admire Kelly and Seth demonstrating that “travel can be a transformative experience for everyone“.
  • In Maryland and Uganda: We learned of Bicycles Against Poverty micro-financing bicycles for bicycle distribution in Uganda.

These items followed a summer two-page spread about Alpe d’Huez and the Tour de France. All cycling in a non-cycling publication. Who’d of figured?

Tail winds and thanks for reading!
