Bryan “Pink Lightning” Warnecke

Years ago, before we frequented the one-week and two-week tours, we’d regularly ride and support the “long-weekend” tours such as the MS 150 and the local Children’s Hospital fundraiser known as the Courage Classic.

The endorphin rush of those 2 and 3 day trips hooked us into wanting more.

Early in June we ventured to Children’s Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO to meet Bryan Warnecke, his family and his supporters. We were welcomed with open arms and open hearts…and inducted into Team Pink Lightning.
“I am 15 years old and I have cystic fibrosis. …. I intend to ride over 1,000 miles in 43 days around Colorado to thank Children’s Hospital Colorado for keeping me healthy and to encourage other kids with disabilities to remain physically active and pursue their dreams.  We will cross the finish line on the first day of the Courage Classic.” – Bryan
We plan to join Pink Lightning for a few more miles of the  1,000 trek in support of their effort. Please visit www.pinklightning.org and throw in your support. Track their journey on Facebook.

As it turned out, we missed riding with Team Pink LIghtning by a few minutes when we tried to join them in Eagle Country. They were riding so fast and kept trucking to beat the weather. Our ETA had us join the route and the rain a bit late.

But watch out…you’ll still see us sporting our Pink Lightning wear now & then!
